The primary goal of a Stage Manager (SM) is to facilitate a smooth production process. As the "central hub" of a show, the SM is responsible for everything once the show opens. Successful leadership and collaboration with the company are crucial. The SM works directly with the Director, cast, and Production Team to bring a show from inception to completion.
Building Strong Working RelationshipsA significant portion of an SM's role involves building relationships with the Director, Production Team, cast, and crew. Managing personal and confidential information or handling personality issues may require strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy. Staying calm and positive is essential throughout the production process.
