Coming off the massive success of our previous productions, Firehall Theatre is thrilled to transport audiences from the heart of Medicine Hat to the fantastical world of fairy tales with our enchanting rendition of "Shrek: The Musical." This colourful, heartwarming, and laugh-out-loud production promises to captivate audiences of all ages at the Medicine Hat College Theatre.

"Shrek: The Musical" takes us on a whimsical journey with the beloved ogre Shrek, who embarks on a quest to rescue the feisty Princess Fiona from a fiery dragon-guarded castle. All this, to regain his beloved swamp, which has been overrun by displaced fairy tale characters, a consequence of the manipulative Lord Farquaad's gentrification plans. Along the way, he's joined by a fast-talking Donkey, whose boundless optimism and friendship start to melt the gruff exterior of our green hero.

This touching story about friendship, acceptance, and discovering that true beauty lies within is portrayed against a backdrop of dazzling sets and a jubilant score, including favourites like "I'm a Believer" and "Freak Flag." Directed by John Doe, our talented local cast and creative team bring a new level of depth and humour to these familiar characters, promising a truly unforgettable experience.
